The intercultural kitchen in Mensa

Take a recipe and ... No, so simply this is not in intercultural kitchen, as the first one rids himself of the learnt contact technologies with food – besides, there are more cultural circumstances than one would think so – then one takes the recipe.

In India the spices are often roasted in the pan, in Germany this is a taboo. And in Germany, the Spices should keep the taste which they had while adding. In Chile you renounce with pleasure completely spices or you do not need this with the right choice of the basic ingredients.

So the aromas in Chile combine the sweetness of wheat, the sourness of tomatoes and the tart of roasted meat.

There is another factor in Mensa. How do you prepare meals that are eaten by many people? really many people

In Paderborn we distribute daily nearly 4500 meals. In Bistro Hotspot and Menus Basilica and atrium in Hamm and Lippstadt. The center of Students in Paderborn provides more than 1,000,000 meals a year. How to prepare soup, for example? How is a standard meal calculated? These challenges are part of our daily work. The intercultural approach also increased complexity. The two weeks of intercultural cooking have given so much pleasure for our guests and for us also in Mensa Academica.
